Desks
9 resultsOur desks are 94 to 130 cm wide. Choose a desk with drawers or a cupboard, a white children's desk, or a pull-out desk that slides under a mid sleeper bed. For the chair, see our office chairs.
How to choose a desk
- Height: a standard desk is about 74 cm high. Sitting with your forearms on the desk, your elbows should bend at about a right angle or slightly more.
- Depth: for a laptop, a shallow desk is enough. With a monitor, sit 50 to 100 cm from the screen, and place it at the back of the desk.
- Width: measure everything that has to fit on the desk, then compare it with the widths below.
- Space behind: leave room behind the desk to push your chair back and stand up.
- For children: their elbows should rest on the desk. At a standard-height desk, a younger child needs a higher chair and a footrest.
Common mistakes when choosing a desk
- A desk that is too high: your shoulders and neck tense up. Adjust the chair, or choose a lower desk.
- A desk that is too low: you hunch over it. The right height depends on your own height and your chair.
- A screen too close: keep the screen at least 50 cm from your eyes.
- Forgetting the chair: without room behind the desk, you cannot push the chair back.

Frequently asked questions
How high should a desk be?
Most of ours are 72 to 77 cm high, which suits most adults on an adjustable office chair. Adjust the chair, not the desk.
How deep should a desk be?
Ours are 50 to 68 cm deep. A shallow one suits a laptop, and a deeper one leaves room for a screen at the back.
Which desk suits a small room?
Our narrowest desk is 94 cm wide. Under a mid sleeper, the pull-out desk slides away when you do not need it.
What size desk does a child need?
One where your child's elbows rest level with the top. Our Mila pull-out desk is 72 cm high, so a younger child needs a higher chair and a footrest.
Which type of desk fits my space?
A desk with storage at one end keeps the rest of the top free. In a tight room, choose a pull-out desk.
