Tables
34 resultsOur tables run from small side tables to dining tables up to 230 cm long. Share meals at a dining table, keep drinks and books close on a coffee table, and work or study at a desk. For a child's room, see our dressing tables, and for seating, our dining chairs.
How to choose a table
- Height for the job: each type has its own height. A dining table is about 75 cm high, while a coffee table sits close to the height of the sofa seat.
- Seats at the table: each person needs about 60 cm of table edge. Our dining tables seat four to eight people.
- Space around it: leave at least 80 cm between a dining table and the wall, so chairs can be pulled out.
- Shape for the room: a round table has no corners and suits a small or square room. A rectangular table suits a longer room.
- A desk that fits you: sitting at the desk, your elbows should bend at about a right angle. Keep the screen at least 50 cm from your eyes.
Common mistakes when choosing a table
- Measuring only the table: Chairs, legs and people need room too. Measure the room, then subtract the space around the table.
- A coffee table that is too tall: a table higher than the sofa seat is awkward to reach and looks too big.
- A side table well below the armrest: you reach down for every cup. Measure the arm of your sofa first.

Ours are 75 to 76 cm high, the standard height, so standard chairs fit underneath. They match our dining chairs.

Count the people who eat at it every day. A 120 cm table seats four, and a 180 cm table seats six.
How high should a coffee table be?
About level with your sofa seat, or up to about 10 cm lower.
Round or rectangular table?
Round suits a small or square room, because there are no corners. Rectangular suits a longer room and larger families.

A round coffee table or a nesting set of side tables, which slide together when you do not need them.
