How to choose a 140x200 bed

• Know what 140 cm gives you: for one person it is roomy. For two, each person gets about 70 cm, which is less than a 90 cm single bed.
• Match the size exactly: in Belgium and France, 140x190 is also common. Make sure your mattress is 140x200 for these beds.
• Leave room around it: keep at least 60 cm free on the sides you use, and more if you can.
• Check the ceiling for a canopy: our white canopy bed is the tallest bed here, so measure the ceiling first.

Common mistakes when choosing a 140x200 bed

• Choosing 140 cm for two people who like space: a 160x200 double bed gives each of you about 80 cm.
• Mixing 140x190 and 140x200: a 190 cm mattress leaves a gap of about 10 cm at the foot of these beds.
• Not measuring the route in: check that the headboard and side rails fit through your hallway and door.

Is a 140x200 bed right for a small bedroom?

A 140x200 bed is the double that works in a small bedroom. It is 20 cm narrower than a 160x200 double, and it still sleeps two.

Caring for your bed

Wipe metal and MDF frames with a dry or slightly damp cloth. On PU leather, use a mild soap solution for stubborn stains. Avoid abrasive or harsh cleaners.
