Sofas
7 resultsOur sofas are about 190 to 214 cm long. Choose a fabric sofa with storage under the seat or a metal daybed that stands against the wall like a bench. They come in grey, beige, white and black. For guests who stay the night, see our sofa beds, and for a seat of your own, our armchairs.
How to choose a sofa
- Upright or lounging: a higher, shallower seat keeps you upright. A lower, deeper seat is for lounging, but it can be harder to get up from.
- Room to move: keep a clear walking route around the sofa. Leave about 45 cm between the sofa and the coffee table.
- The way in: measure the front door, the hallway and the stairs or lift. A sofa that fits the room may not fit the route.
Common mistakes when choosing a sofa
- Forgetting the open bed: most of ours fold out into a bed, so leave free floor in front for the open bed.
- No spare room at the door: a sofa that only just fits the doorway is very hard to carry in. Leave some spare width.
- Choosing a very deep, soft sofa for everyday sitting: it is comfortable for lounging but can be difficult to get up from.
What size sofa for a small living room?
Measure the wall first. Ours are about 190 to 214 cm long, so check that length fits with room to spare. Keep a clear route around the sofa to walk past.
