Office Chairs
9 resultsHow to choose an office chair
- Seat height: your feet should rest flat on the floor, with your thighs roughly level. Choose a chair that adjusts to that height for you.
- Seat depth: leave about two fingers' width between the front of the seat and the back of your knees.
- Back support: for long working days, choose a chair that supports your lower back.
- Arm position: at the desk, your elbows should stay close to your body and bend at about a right angle or slightly more.
Common mistakes when choosing an office chair
- Ignoring seat depth: a seat that is too deep presses into the back of your knees, especially for shorter people.
- Buying for looks only: for long working days, height adjustment and back support matter more than style.
- Not checking the desk: the chair has to slide under the desk at your working height. Measure the gap first.
Dimensions and materials
- Width: 51 to 65 cm.
- Overall height: about 80 to 120 cm to the top of the backrest, depending on the setting.
- Covers: breathable mesh on the Hippa, Max and Job, or black PU (faux leather).
- Frame: a metal column on a plastic or metal base.
- Armrests: all five models have them, in plastic on the Max and Job.
- Colours: black, plus pink, blue, purple and lime.
Caring for your office chair
Vacuum mesh and fabric with a soft brush, and dab stains straight away with a slightly damp cloth. Wipe PU and the base with a dry or slightly damp cloth, then dry it. Clear dust and hair from the castors now and then.
