Kids' Beds
26 resultsHow to choose a kids' bed
- Size it to your child: the bed should be about 10 to 20 cm longer than your child. A 70x140 bed suits a toddler, and 90x200 suits an older child.
- Measure the frame, not the mattress: car beds, house roofs and canopy posts add length, width and height. Check the frame size on each product page.
- Add a rail for young children: small children can roll out of an open bed. Choose a bed with sides, such as our cabin bed.
- Choose a bed that grows: the extendable cabin bed extends to about 210 cm long as your child grows.
Common mistakes when choosing a kids' bed
- Buying too small: a 70x140 bed suits a child up to about 120 cm tall. For a taller child, choose 90x200.
- Judging the room by the mattress size: car beds are much longer than their mattress, so measure the frame.
- Forgetting the ceiling: canopy beds are the tallest, so check the ceiling, especially under a sloping roof.
What size kids' bed for a small bedroom?
A 70x140 bed is about 20 cm narrower than a 90x200 bed. It is also about 60 cm shorter. Use it while your child still fits, then move up. If the room is tight later on, a mid sleeper or a loft bed frees the floor underneath.
