How to choose a shoe cabinet

  • Depth: slim cabinets store shoes at an angle and keep a narrow hallway free. Shoes lie flat only in a deeper cabinet, such as our two-door cabinet.
  • Capacity: count the pairs you own and add a few. Boots and large sizes take more room than you might expect.
  • Room in front: tilt-out drawers tip forward on a hinge, so they need free floor in front. Leave enough room to walk past with a drawer open.
  • Wall fixing: tall, slim cabinets tip easily. Fix them to the wall with the fitting supplied.

Common mistakes when choosing a shoe cabinet

  • Blocking a door: check that the front door and any other door can still open fully.
  • Forgetting the tilt-out space: the open drawer reaches into the hallway. Measure that space too.
  • Skipping the wall fixing: a slim cabinet full of shoes is top-heavy when a drawer is open.

Dimensions and materials

  • Width: about 63 to 70 cm.
  • Height: 120 to about 190 cm.
  • Depth: about 23 to 35 cm.
  • Material: particleboard in white, a wood look or a concrete look.

Caring for your shoe cabinet

Wipe the cabinet with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners. Do not leave water on the surface. For a stubborn stain, use mild soapy water and dry it well.

Our range of shoe cabinets

  • Drawer cabinets: with 3 drawers or 4 drawers, in white, light Sonoma (a pale oak look) or concrete, and the 4-drawer also in grey oak.
  • Two-door cabinet: in white or Sonoma oak.

Goes well with

  • Storage cabinets: a storage cabinet with shelves holds bags, hats and gloves.
  • Wardrobes: the white and Sonoma oak finishes also run through our wardrobes, so the hallway can match the bedroom.
