How to choose a wall shelf
- Check your wall: brick, concrete and plasterboard all need the right plugs. On plasterboard, use cavity plugs or screw into a wooden stud.
- Spread the weight: put heavier books near the brackets, where the shelf is strongest.
- What it holds: books and small things, with a raised front edge that stops them sliding off.
Common mistakes when choosing a wall shelf
- Standard plugs in plasterboard: a loaded shelf can pull them out. Use cavity plugs.
- Overloading the shelf: it is made for books and small things. Heavy boxes or a stack of large books can pull it from the wall.

Screw it to the wall through its brackets. Ours come with the brackets already fitted.
Which colours does the wall shelf come in?
Natural, in solid pine. See our wall shelves.
Can a wall shelf replace a bookcase?
For a few books, yes. For a whole collection, a bookcase holds far more.
Can I use two shelves together?
Yes. Hang them side by side or one above the other, with enough height between them for your books.
