Beds
91 resultsOur beds take mattresses from 70x140 up to 160x200, so there is a size for every age. Browse toddler beds and bunk beds for the children's room, or double beds for your own. Many come with a slatted base, so you only need to add a mattress.
How to choose a bed
- Start with the mattress size: beds here follow European sizes: 70x140 for a toddler, 90x200 for one person, and 140x200 or 160x200 for two. Pick the size first, then browse single beds, 140x200 beds or double beds.
- Plan the space around it: leave at least 60 cm free on the sides you get in from, and about 75 cm if the room allows. Check that the door and wardrobe doors can still open fully.
- Check the sleeping height: the top of the mattress should sit at about knee height, so you can sit on the edge with your feet flat.
- Look at what holds the mattress: mattress makers usually ask for slat gaps of no more than about 6 to 7 cm. Wide beds also need support in the middle, such as a pair of middle legs.
- For children, check the guard rails: on bunk beds and loft beds, the top of the mattress must stay at least 16 cm below the guard rail. The top bed is not meant for children under six.
Common mistakes when choosing a bed
- Measuring the mattress instead of the frame: the frame is always bigger, sometimes by almost 20 cm in length. Measure the room against the frame size on the product page.
- Not measuring the route in: long side rails and a tall headboard have to pass through your hallway, stairs and bedroom door. Measure them before you order.
- Using a mattress that is too thick on a raised bed: a thick mattress lowers the guard rail on a bunk or loft bed. Stay within the maximum in the manual; our mid sleepers allow up to 20 cm.
- Ignoring the slat gaps: gaps wider than your mattress maker allows can damage the mattress and void its warranty. A new slatted base solves this.
- Skipping the centre support on a wide bed: a wide base needs support in the middle to stay stable. The product page shows whether it is included; if not, add middle legs.
What size bed for a small bedroom?
For one person, a 90x200 single bed leaves the most floor free. For two, a 140x200 bed is about 20 cm narrower than a 160x200 double. A bed with storage underneath or a set of bed drawers can replace a dresser. For a child, a loft bed with a desk underneath uses the same floor twice.

Why buy a bed from Maci Home?
- A bed for every age: about 70 beds, for mattresses from 70x140 up to 160x200, from a first toddler bed to a double for two.
- Four brands in one place: Vipack for most children's beds, Interiax and Rousseau for adult beds, and Childhome for the wooden tipi frame.
- A base included on many beds: every double bed and mid sleeper, and most bunk beds, come with a slatted base, so all you add is the mattress.
Goes well with
- A bed that grows with your child: the house bed and the tipi bed come as toddler beds and as larger kids' beds.
- The same bed in three widths: the grey metal Sandro comes as a single bed, a 140x200 bed and a double bed.
- Bunk beds that split: some bunk beds become two single beds when the children want their own rooms.
- Wardrobes: some of our wardrobes have sliding doors, which need no floor in front to open, so they fit close to the bed.
