Measuring for a bar stool

Counter height decides everything, and it is the one measurement people skip.

• Measure to the underside : from the floor to the bottom of the counter, not the top.

• Leave 25 to 30 cm : that is the gap you want between seat and counter for legroom.

• A 78 cm seat : suits a counter of roughly 105 to 115 cm, the usual bar or island height.

• A standard worktop : at about 90 cm needs a lower seat than the Ozan, closer to 65 cm.

• Allow width per stool : about 60 cm of counter each, so nobody is sitting elbow to elbow.
