Our shoe cabinets

7 Carini shoe cabinets, in two heights and four finishes, all 23 cm deep.

• Carini 4 drawers : 155 x 63 x 23 cm, in grey oak, light sonoma, white or concrete look.

• Carini 3 drawers : 120 x 63 x 23 cm, the shorter model, in the same four finishes.

• Tilting drawers : the fronts tip forward rather than pulling out on runners.

• 23 cm deep : the same on both heights, so a hallway stays passable.

Why a shallow cabinet

A hallway is usually the narrowest part of the house, and shoes still have to go somewhere.

• It does not block the corridor : 23 cm is about the depth of a skirting-level radiator.

• Shoes stand on edge : tilting drawers hold them upright rather than flat.

• The top stays usable : keys, post or a lamp on a 63 cm wide surface.

• Closed storage : shoes out of sight rather than in a heap by the door.

Three drawers or four

The two heights hold different amounts in the same floor area.

• Three drawers, 120 cm : the lower model, which sits under a coat rack.

• Four drawers, 155 cm : a metre and a half tall, so a few more pairs fit.

• Same width and depth : 63 cm wide and 23 deep either way.

• Four finishes : grey oak, light sonoma, white and a concrete look.
