Our toddler beds

7 toddler beds, most of them 70 x 140 cm, for the move out of a cot.

• Toddler Bed House 70x140 : in white or natural, low enough to climb in and out unaided.

• Tipi 70x140 : a tipi frame over a low bed, so going to sleep becomes camping.

• Childhome Tipi bed frame : the wooden frame only, in natural and white, bed sold separately.

• Vehicle beds : Police Car in blue, Race Car and Fire Truck in red.

Why the low height matters

A toddler bed is defined less by its size than by how close it sits to the floor.

• They get in unaided : no lifting in and out at bedtime.

• A fall is short : the mattress sits low to the ground.

• It ends the cot : the first bed with no bars around it.

• 70 x 140 cm : the standard toddler size, and a cot mattress often still fits.

Making the change easier

The first bed without bars is a change worth staging.

• A theme helps : a fire truck or a police car gives them a reason to want it.

• A frame overhead : the House and Tipi models enclose the bed without shutting it in.
